For years, I have entertained creating a lifestyle blog. I have flirted with the idea, even halfheartedly creating a blog three years ago. To explain, I made a site, only kept it hard to find and shared the link with only a select few. In addition, I was not committed to posting, which means that that effort resulted in less than a dozen posts. However, the idea never quite left my being, and throughout the years, I returned to it. Sometimes, my drive was stronger, but I mostly just made excuses. Well, today, I finally pulled the trigger and started developing this site. Perhaps I hesitated for so long out of fear — as publicly sharing so much is out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been more prone to journal habitually, to doodle quietly, and to create behind closed doors. But after spending a good bit of time with the initial setup of my new site — a site that I am overly enthusiastic about with its name and concept and its possibilities to build communities and inspire others — I am reminding myself that I should not strive for perfection and that this too is a process. I can enjoy its creation and should find the beauty and fun with each entry. That being said, to help build the site’s content, I’ve decided to pull some of those older posts for 2014 to load on this site. While my writing voice and personality have probably changed over the years, these posts will help to get my new site going while giving you a glimpse into my 2014-self and life. And eventually, this site and its focus on living simply, positively, and creatively will be well on its way. One post at a time. So let this new journey begin.
